Industrial Sales Leadership · Data Strategy · Operations · Product Management
Jerry Quinn
Thirty years of boots-on-the-ground industrial sales — from the warehouse floor to the boardroom — fused with the data strategy that sees the whole board. Shake the hand. Know the numbers. Do what you said you’d do.
The journey of an industrial fixture in the industry.
One career, one arc: it started in the data and grew into sales leadership. Most people in this business are one or the other — the data person who sees the patterns nobody else can, or the field guy who works a room and a plant floor. I’ve spent 30 years becoming both, and the two halves make each other sharper.
The data roots: I led master data for 17M+ products, built enterprise SaaS momentum at Backbone.ai, and set inaugural data governance and AI standards at Rubix. Clean data, honest numbers, strategy you can act on.
Where it led: the stops along the way ran from Motion Industries, Backbone.ai, Rubix Industrial — and key account management across the Southeast and North America. A 24-year career at Motion Industries, and thousands of handshakes in plants, warehouses, and data centers. I know the product, I know the application, and I know what a line going down actually costs.
Put together, it’s one way of working — the salesman who speaks data, and the data man who sells. Show up in person, see the whole board, and connect the right people to the right solution. Away from work, I’ve given 20+ years to Birmingham ballfields as an umpire and youth sports leader, and I volunteer with local nonprofits and the American Heart Association Heart Walk.
Know the product, the data, and the real problem before you pitch anything.
People buy from people. Relationships are what actually move freight.
The sale isn’t the finish line. Follow-through is the whole job.
Boots-on-the-ground salesmanship and digital excellence aren’t two services on a menu. They’re the same job, done at the same time, by the same person.

MRO and OEM fluency earned on real floors — bearings, power transmission, fluid power, and the applications they keep running. No reading from a spec sheet.
Critical power is a trust business. I work data center and UPS programs where uptime is the whole contract and the details are non-negotiable.
Led the product master behind 17M+ SKUs across 22 categories — taxonomy, enrichment, and PIM/DAM discipline that makes eCommerce actually convert.
Built inaugural governance and AI standards at Rubix and advised on ERP, CRM, and AI/ML initiatives — guardrails that let teams move fast without breaking trust.
Territory planning, pricing, and pipeline decisions run on evidence — Salesforce, Power BI, and 30 years of knowing which numbers matter and which are noise.
